Six New 'Men in Black 3' Images: Yet More Aliens on SetSix New 'Men in Black 3' Images: Yet More Aliens on Set

Six new stills from Men in Black III are now available online.  If you were unaware that the Men in Black franchise contains many a practical alien effect, then each and everyone of the new images will clarify for you that Men in Black III will, in fact, contain a bunch of extraterrestrials created by the one and only Rick Baker.

Last month, five behind the scenes images shows Baker at work on makeup effects in the sequel.  He shows up here in one picture, too, but he's less recognizable, since he's in makeup as an alien himself, showing off a giant external brain and extra-long fingers with little pucker-things on the ends.

All six images debuted at Entertainment Weekly, and Baker also explained to EW that the time-travel element of the story informed his approach, saying, ''When I saw the '60s part, I said, 'I think we should do retro-looking aliens based on a lot of the aliens that were in films from the '50s and '60s that I love.  It was actually an idea I'd tried to push in the first two movies and they didn't go for it, but I figured with the time travel it would be perfect.''

Baker also said that he and his team created 127 entirely different types of alien creatures for the film, but that didn't guarantee them all ample screen time. ''We'd do an alien you could build a whole movie around, with all kinds of animatronics in its face," he said. "And then it would turn out to be in a quick pan.  It was like, 'Wow, we could have saved some time there!''

Baker returns along with Barry Sonnenfeld, who directed the last two Men in Black films, but who hasn't invested his efforts into a feature since 2006's RV.  Leading man Will Smith has been on the longest break of his career since the early 1990s, not having starred in a film since Seven Pounds in 2008.  He's once again joined by Tommy Lee Jones as Agent K, though Josh Brolin plays the younger version of the character for about half of the film.

See all of Rick Baker's alien makeup effects in three dimensions with Rogue 3D Eyewear when Men in Black III arrives in theaters on May 25th.
