A Whole Mess of 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' Character PostersA Whole Mess of 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' Character Posters

We've been seeing no small amount of images from G.I. Joe: Retaliation as of late, including three official stills just yesterday.  Paramount is opening up the promotional floodgates for its sequel to 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and since the film has a big ensemble of characters bearing the names of Hasbro action figures, today there's a new crop of character posters for eight of those action-figures-turned-action-heroes/villains.

The film is indeed a sequel, but it's also a retooling that is meant to relaunch the franchise with a new tone.  To accomplish this, Paramount brought aboard Justin Bieber: Never Say Never helmer Jon M. Chu to take over as director, along with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick as screenwriters.  Additionally, the only returning castmembers you'll find in the posters below are Channing Tatum, Byung Hun-lee, and Ray Park.

But anyways, check out all eight posters below.

The first, showing Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock, debuted today at Yahoo! Movies

The poster for the lovely Adrianne Palicki's Lady Jaye is courtesy of JoBlo.

Duke, the character once again played by Channing Tatum, is here thanks to Collider.

The villainous Cobra Commander made his poster debut at SlashFilm.

Mr. Storm Shadow, again played by Byung Hun-lee, showed up at Coming Soon.

Hey U Guys hosted the poster of his nemesis, Ray Park's good guy Snake Eyes.

Bruce Willis and the grimacing original Joe General Joseph Colton premiered today at IGN.

Finally, Jinx, the sword-wielding femme fatale played by Elodie Yung, is here thanks to Cloneweb.

Not accounted for by posters in this group but definitely showing up in the film are Walton Goggins, RZA, Joseph Mazzello, D.J. Cotrona, Ray Stevenson, Jonathan Pryce, Arnold Vosloo, and Eddie Hargitay.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation arrives in theaters on June 29th.
